YOUR SKIN ITCHES
People with diabetes commonly experience itching due to yeast infections (which don’t only affect the genital area), but sometimes the problem isn’t infection. Skin dryness and poor circulation from diabetes can also cause itching, according to the ADA.
With dry skin and poor circulation, the legs and arms are typically the itchiest areas. Generally, itching can be relieved by limiting bathing, using soap with a built-in moisturizer, and applying lotions. However, it’s important to determine the cause of your symptoms.
A lot of things can cause dry skin and poor circulation. That includes cold dry weather, central heating and space heaters, medications, skin conditions like eczema, and cardiovascular problems.
