Charlie Sheen’s troubles have been well known for many decades now, including charges of assault, drug abuse and several stints in rehab. Starting in 1990, he left a rehab center where he spent almost a month saying he was going to continue attending 12-step meetings. In 1996, Sheen was taken into custody on assault charges by his former girlfriend pleading no contest. He then went into rehab again in 1998 due to a near-fatal overdose.
Sheen’s second wife, Denise Richards, announced they were getting a divorce claiming that he had physically and verbally abused her. She filed a restraining order against him. Charlie was again arrested in 2009 on suspicion of second-degree assault, menacing, and criminal mischief in a domestic violence dispute with his wife, Brooke Mueller. Sheen continues to amaze his with his continuous assault charges and stints in rehab for drug and alcohol use.
