Too Close To The Anne Frank Story
Due to her own family’s experiences in Nazi-occupied Netherlands, Hepburn related to Anne Frank a lot. Hepburn’s son has said that his mother had a hard time accepting the fact that she had a better life than Frank. In 1957 Hepburn was offered the role of Anne Frank and she had a chance to meet with Anne’s father, Otto Frank. Ultimately, Hepburn turned down the role because she felt so close to the story.
