Green Coffee Bean Extract – Why It’s Good For you

green coffee bean

There are some very silly — and even dangerous — ways to lose weight, but the Green Coffee Bean is one of the best natural solutions to long-term weight loss.

Want to know why Dr. Oz called Green Coffee Bean Extract the “Magic Weight Loss Cure for Every Body Type”?

We thought so… now let us explain.

Why Green Coffee?

For years coffee has been popular as a way to wake up in the morning and stay alert throughout the day, but few people realize that it may have other health benefits beyond just keeping us awake, especially the green coffee bean.

While it’s true that too much coffee can cause problems such as high blood pressure and an increased heart rate, studies have shown that coffee may in fact lower the risk of depression in women and help reduce the chances of prostate cancer in men. It could also be useful in warding off Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of cancer. With that being said, it certainly seems like coffee may have gotten a bad rap from those who think it to be unhealthy.

Green Coffee Bean Extract Benefits

When most people think about coffee, they of course imagine coffee made from roasted and ground beans. That’s perfectly understandable, but few people realize that there are amazing health benefits to be taken from green coffee extract, including doubling your weight loss in just a few short weeks. Dr. Oz highlighted the green coffee bean on his TV show and labeled it the The Magic Weight Loss Cure for Every Body Type.

how it is made

Green Coffee Weight Loss

Green coffee beans are coffee beans in their raw, unroasted form. Coffee beans need to be roasted before they can be ground and brewed into a drinkable form, but studies have shown that the green coffee bean extract taken in supplement form may aid significantly in weight loss.

In one such green coffee bean study funded by Applied Food Sciences, 16 overweight men and women lost an average of 17 pounds over a period of 22 weeks while they took green coffee bean extract as a supplement. The subjects did not change their diets or exercise habits in the study, yet they lost far more weight than they did during a previous study in which they were given a placebo. The green coffee bean test was very short, and additional research will need to be performed, but the results of the study are promising for the extract of the green coffee bean as one of the best natural fat burning supplements.

The Green Coffee Bean as a Natural Fat Burn Supplement

lose belly fatThe question of course is why the green coffee bean is so effective as a dietary supplement. Well, it turns out that there are a number of reasons why this is the case. Pure green coffee bean extract contains chlorigenic acid and other similar polyphenolic compounds which act as powerful antioxidants. When coffee beans are roasted, the amount of chlorigenic acid is greatly reduced, so the roasted beans do not have the same health benefits as they do in their raw, unroasted form. In other words, green coffee bean possesses far more antioxidants than roasted beans.

Not only is coffee from the green coffee bean useful in fighting against free radicals in our bodies, but studies such as the one mentioned above have shown that the green coffee bean can reduce blood glucose levels, lower blood pressure, and prevent the buildup of visceral fat in the body. Visceral fat usually builds up in the abdomen and surrounds the heart, liver, pancreas and kidneys. Too much of it can lead to serious health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and even certain forms of cancer. The fact that the green coffee bean prevents the buildup of this fat in the body goes a long way in explaining the extract’s effectiveness as a green coffee bean dietary supplement.

The Green Coffee Bean – Endorsed by Dr. Oz

Extract from the green coffee bean can be purchased in either capsule or tablet form. It can be bought in different dosages, but a recommended dose is 400 mg twice a day. There are no known side-effects of the green coffee bean, although the caffeine present in the beans may cause some people to become jittery much like a cup of strong coffee. As with any dietary supplement, it is best to consult your physician before taking green coffee bean supplements, especially if you tend to be sensitive to caffeine or you are on any medication. Dr. Oz does give it the thumbs-up, though.

I love Dr. Oz. Terrific video and product. I have been taking Green Coffee Bean Extract for a month now and quite impressed with the outcome. I am pleased to announce that I have actually lost weight. I used to drink coffee three times a day thinking it would eventually speed up my metabolism. The best thing about the Green Coffee bean is that it can be taken in capsule form and is great for people who dislike coffee. Much better option than going to a gym.

  2. Brandon A says:

We all want to lose weight. Whether it’s a pound or two, or we’re trying to shed a big, fat belly, we all have goals when it comes to our appearance. I had never heard of green coffee bean extract prior to reading this article and watching this video, and I am completely taken aback by the benefits of something that seems so simple. The fact that Dr. Oz himself endorses green coffee bean extract helps me feel confident about making a purchase and giving it a whirl for myself. The fact that it can lower blood pressure in addition to preventing the build up of visceral fat is outstanding. Color me curious!

  3. Gary Roberts says:

I totally agree with you Brandon, all those benefits of green coffee spelled out by Dr Oz do seem too good to be true. I’ve battled weight loss problems for many years and I habitually end up giving up on any program I start. Green coffee extract seems to be an excellent way to continue my current eating habits and shed some unwanted pounds at the same time. I’m hoping that when I try it that it will also help some of my other health related issues with high blood pressure, so count me in for now! I hope you guys come back and update us on your results.

  4. StephanieP says:

I have been hearing wonderful stuff about the Green Coffee Beans. I feel more secure in my decision to try it now that I know Dr. Oz has promoted it and approves of it’s use. It’s a lot less scary to try a product if you know it’s all natural.

    • BettyB says:

I am trying for first time too. Just waiting for it to come in mail and hopefully it is there today. Can’t wait to start and watch all the pounds come off and my metabolism to start working the way it should. I ordered just 2 bottles of 90, but if I see results, I’m ordering more…..perfect time too cuz I have all winter to do this and once summer gets here…I’m hoping to wear a 2 piece…we shall see….

      • Ginny says:

I started mine at the beginning of this week. I can say that so far, I have more energy. I have about 1 1/2 months to lose up to 12 lbs. so I can fit into my dress, for my son’s upcoming wedding! The dress fits me, but is a little snug around the waist. I am also dieting (low carb, high protein) and exercising 2-3 times a week. I just want to encourage you, and I know it will work for you too.

  5. Ann Brown says:

By the time you reach my age (52) it seems that dieting and exercise no longer helps. After seeing Dr. Oz suggest using “Green Coffee Bean Extract” to help lose weight I became excited, decided to try it, it has only been two weeks, but I have increased my energy levels and see my clothes fitting better.

  6. Jenn says:

I was very skeptical when I first heard about this product. Seems most of the folks that have commented so far share one thing in common, we’ve tried everything but nothing seems to work. I love Dr. Oz and believe that if he says it works than it works, plus I don’t think he wants to risk ruining his credibility by introducing us to crap. What really sparks my interest is that green coffee can give me energy. I am excited to try it out, fingers crossed!

  7. Mitchell Lovett says:

Definitely interesting. I have been experimenting with natural ways for weight loss with out some manufactured chemical with frightening side effects. I currently take Green Tea extract every day which seems to help but would be very interested to try green coffee bean as well. I do like how the on-show testers said that there was little noticeable affect from taking besides a slight increase in energy and appetite suppressant. I don’t want some weird speed pill that will make me feel like I drank too much caffeine, just for it to work it’s magic. You learn something new every day and it looks like today’s lesson will carry on. Thanks, Oz!

  8. Chirs says:

Im defiantly going to give this a try, i love knowing its an all natural way of losing weight, rather than taking man made pills and shakes. for people who don’t have that much time to exercise this is a god send, and another reason to drink coffee who could say no :) im glad that Dr Oz approves of this.

  9. Alex Wu says:

An interesting read. I admit that I have a huge coffee addiction, and whenever everyone asks me about it, I just tell them about all of the health benefits coffee gives, including reducing the risk of various diseases. But I’ve always just had regular, roasted black coffee. I’ve never even heard of the green coffee bean! I do also drink green tea, and I know that helps with weight loss, but I am interested in this green coffee bean as well. I think I’ll order some samples. I’m really excited now!

  10. Paul Regal says:

I heard about this about a year ago. I used to take a similar supplement for energy, but the after taste was not so good. I am willing to give this one a try since it is all natural and has some great reviews.. Dr. Oz has always recommended great products to his audience, so I’ll give this a try!. I heard that it also helps anxiety and insomnia. I’ll be ordering a month supply today.

  11. Adam C says:

Is it possible that the weight loss came from the increase in caffeine? Sounds like what he says in the video has more to do with the amount of caffeine that is introduced to the bloodstream. I mean, you can see the same results from a fatty acid. Plus I tend to be skeptical about anything Dr. Oz is selling. I think the better study would be to see if the unroasted bean has more nutritional value, which would benefit your overall health.

  12. Pete Law says:

Thanks for including the video from Dr. Oz! It really brings out some of the great points from this article. We are, as a nation, facing huge issues with obesity and weight and it is good that alternatives are being discussed as to how people can help get to a healthy weight through less conventional means. I am an avid coffee drinker but i am excited to try changing to the green bean to see if it can help me lose some of the nagging pounds.

  13. Drew says:

All of my body building friends are using this supplement and they are very happy with the results. Nice to find something so simple that produces such great results.

    Montgomery triangle is awesome!

  14. Loladaise says:

I began my weight loss journey this past May. I have lost 50 lbs the OLD fashioned way with diet and exercise. Around Christmas I plateaued and have not been able to break it. This morning I cried. I now have 7 lbs to loose as I have gained a few back and I don’t know what to do anymore. My exercise is extreme and my body just can’t take anymore (nor do I have more time to give to it.). I don’t mind exercising rigerously on a regular basis to maintain but I am no longer able to loose anything and it’s been 3 months pllus. I have been reading about this and I am willing to give it a try. I am praying it works!! I feel so close to my goal but I am still NOT THERE!! I thought for sure i would be by now.

  15. Wendy Mitchell says:

I am a fan of Dr. Oz and know that if he endorse it, it will work.

  16. Arnold says:

I was skeptical until I tried it for myself. I have lost over 20lbs in the last 3 months with watching what I was eating and a little bit of exercise Green Coffee Extract has helped me get closer to my goal weight fast than anything else I have tried.

  17. Jean says:

I have only been on the coffee bean for a week; although I don’t see any changes just YET; the one thing that is most noticeable to me is how much more thirsty I feel and I only thirst for water. Other drinks don’t seem to satisfy my thirst. Also, I am not snacking as much and I definitely feel more alert. I notice the different because I most often tired as I have 2 small energetic boys to keep up with but since I started taking the green coffee bean pills I feel I have a lot more energy. I know the advertisements say the bean is not like consuming caffeine but this makes me more alert than coffee. Anyone feel like this?
