Food Colorings
Food dyes like Yellow 5 (aka tartrazine) and Red 40 (Allura Red – often used in candies in baked goods) have been shown to cause adverse reactions in some individuals, especially children.
A food dye sensitivity can show up as hyperactivity, insomnia, a lack of attention, and mood swings. There may also be symptoms such as skin swelling, hives, breathing problems, and stomach issues.
